Weymouth & Portland Rookies are those members of BLSR and WCL who are aged between 8 and 13 inclusive.
 

Weymouth Canoe Lifeguards is a charity, providing safety cover (lifeguards/first aiders) on Weymouth beach in the summer at weekends and at organised events such as the annual carnival.

Training takes place on two evenings per week.  This is in addition to lifeguard, safety or first aid cover. The training includes swimming, canoeing, first aid, resuscitation and fitness.
 

Learn to perform basic life support on a baby (under 1 year).  Learn to treat drowning, choking and non-breathing babies.
 

Heartstart Weymouth is a similar scheme to 'Save A Baby's Life' but is concerned with Adults rather than babies.  Topics covered in the two hour workshop include:  CPR, choking, life-threatening bleeding and heart attacks.
