Extended Life Support

 

The Extended Life Support course is the next step for those who are competent in basic life support.  It is administered by the RLSS and covers everything up to, and including, the third link in the Chain of Survival.

 

The course is a four hour course, focusing on

  • Resuscitation using a barrier device;

  • Bag and mask resuscitation;

  • Oxygen therapy;

  • Automated External Defibrillators.

To attend a course, it is assumed that the candidate has a sound knowledge of basic life support and has certificated evidence.  The certificate must be of Life Support 3 standard as minimum.  If you do not currently have a sound knowledge of basic life support, the following awards may be of interest to you:
